Gunmen battle police in diplomatic area of Dhaka, official says

"It could be a restaurant or a hospital," Gulshan police station duty officer Sayedur Rahman said, describing the location of the shooting. "An unknown number of people are trapped in those places," he added. The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka warned of the situation on Twitter, advising people to shelter in place and noting that a hostage situation had been reported.
