Parents are more than the messiah. To be saved is one thing, but to be loved by parents, that's a whole different ballgame.

Christ seems always like some kind of glass ceiling, the perfection that you can never reach...
But parents are the opposite, they are actually rooting for you, hoping you become far greater than them, like the root of a tree is rooting for its leaves!... 　
And for this, we should only take from Christianity what suits this explanation, and omit what thwarts it.
